What is the QuadraLASE™ laser?

     The QuadraLASE™ is a fractional CO2 laser for skin rejuvenation that delivers many tiny dots of laser light in a unique  pattern. Fractional means that only a fraction of the skin surface is exposed to the laser beam; the result is a treatment that is more comfortable and requires less downtime than traditional resurfacing - enabling you to get back to your lifestyle sooner.

 

      The QuadraLASE™ has been proven effective in enhancing skin tone and texture, eliminating the effects of the sun and aging on the skin, smoothing lines and wrinkles, skin "tightening", and even acne scars.  Treatments range from mild to aggressive based on the extent of the rejuvenation you're looking for.

What areas of the body can be treated?

Most skin areas can be treated.  Popular treatment areas are the face and neck, although many people also treat the chest and hands.   

 

What can I expect at a QuadraLASE™ treatment?

     The procedure is done in our office by Dr. Davis.  A topical anesthetic is applied to the skin for approximately 60 minutes prior to the procedure.  This does an excellent job of numbing the skin to make this procedure comfortable and almost painless.  The actual procedure time is around 30 minutes to an hour. 

 

What should I expect after  the treatment?

     Immediately following treatment, your skin may be red and swollen. Immediately following the procedure you can expect a sensation similar to a sunburn, lasting several hours.  Your skin will likely appear decreasingly pink and swollen for 3-14 days after your treatment. During this time you can expect peeling of dead skin from the treatment area this is part of the natural exfoliation process and will last from 7-10 days. 

 

     You will be given detailed oral and written aftercare instructions which include cold water compresses and application of an ointment to keep skin moist; follow them carefully to ensure your best result.

 

     You will need to be seen in our office the day after your procedure and then again  5 days later for a check up.

How many QuadraLASE™ treatments will I need?

     Generally, excellent results can be achieved with only one treatment, though the number of treatments may vary from patient to patient. 

 

     In the days after the treatment your skin will gradually look and feel softer, smoother, tighter and fresher. You will see immediate improvement in fine lines, wrinkles, scars, pigmentation and texture; and should expect to continue to see improvement for up to six months following your procedure.

 

     During your consultation, Dr. Davis will advise you on what results you can reasonably expect. 

How long will it take to recover?

     Complete healing typically occurs within a few days and most patients usually feel comfortable enough to get back to normal activities and apply makeup 5-7 days after the treatment.  There may be some swelling that will subside within several days following the treatment; redness may take longer.

 

 Are there any risks with the procedure?

     QuadraLASE™  Therapy is widely regarded as a safe procedure.  Because only a fraction of the skin is affected, even deep treatments can be very safe.  One of the best ways to reduce the possibility of complications is to follow the after-treatment care instructions and follow-up schedule provided by Dr. Davis and /or his staff.  Doing so will help reduce the possibility of infection and ensure proper healing.
