BOTOX®, a prescription injectable agent FDA-approved to reduce certain eye muscle spasms, is also effective in reducing facial frown lines. BOTOX® is purified, naturally-occurring botulinus toxin, well-established to relax muscles for several months at a time and thereby softening or eliminating facial frown lines between the eyes, on the forehead and in the crows’ feet region on the outer side of each eye. It also reduces excessive sweating (hyperhidrosis) on the palms and underarms.

BOTOX® Injection Procedure
BOTOX® is injected with tiny needles directly into the muscles associated with frown lines; stinging pain is mild and temporary; and bruising is occasional and short-term. In 3 to 7 days the muscles relax and the frown lines are reduced or disappear altogether. The effect usually lasts 3 to 6 months. Injections may be repeated as often as the patient likes. With repeated injections the effects are longer-lasting and sometimes become permanent.
